Street University trademarked Clothing label was established in 2004 by Jamaican songwriter/multi-media designer Neville ‘Tony-Tuff’ Barrett. The idea to create the label came while living in the community of Paradise Crescent, and observing the dirty games played by “the Clique” against myself and anyone who “they” couldn’t domineer and control. Often times a great thing is manifested after dirty works is done by a Antagonist. So on December 4, 1992 there was a unprovoked physical attacked against myself by two members from the “clique”. That “Physical Attack” was later switched to Propaganda Attack”
We create designs from life experiences by translating the functions of the street into designs that deals with un-conventional subjects including but not limited to Self-Esteem, Mind Power, Heart Affairs, foot Soldiers, Art of Living etc.

So with Word Sound Prayer I asked the Most High for Inspiration to write songs to articulate and counter propaganda from Antagonists and the perfect name to match these activities was “Street University” which I had written in the first verse of the 1993 Song “House of Bondage” and with some bold, fresh and hard hitting designs “street university clothing label was born to represent street runnings and street knowledge.
Starting out in Salem, Montego Bay with 6 screen printed T-shirts which sold out the same day. Within the next few months, the “street university” branded Merch have gained a decent level of popularity in Salem, neighboring communities and the wider Montego Bay Area. The popularity is based on how easy the name “street university” resonates with People from all walks of life, the spin off from the initial investment allowed us to expand the range of merch to Hoodies, Long Sleeve Tees, Blouses, Ladies Tank Top, Snap Back Caps, Skate Decks and Accessories for both Male & Females.
